Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of heroes who will separate from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might appear mismatched, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as key figures in the powerful family could help the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Explorers and Planners groups.
Viewers can anticipate discovering which characters will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
